The Christmas Season is Over

The kids at ChristmasThis week, I’m the only one on the Product Management team in the office. It is extremely quiet, so I can reflect on the last couple weeks of the holiday season. Wow. What a ride.

For the first time since…ok, so for the first time EVER, I didn’t go anywhere during Christmas. When I was a kid, I would go to my dad’s house for Christmas eve and then he would take me to my Grandmother’s house late that night so Santa could come there, too. I was a ‘lucky’ kid, because Santa came to see me twice. Yep, that’s what they told me.

Once my wife and I started doing Christmas together, we would spend Christmas eve with her parents and then drive home at around midnight so we could spend Christmas morning together. We did this for 4 years without kids and then 3 years with kids. Once we moved to Georgia, we started traveling on Christmas day, doing a whirlwind tour of Columbia, Moncks Corner, and then down the Palm City, FL. While it isn’t great that we didn’t get to see all of our family, it was pretty nice to be able to focus on the kids and focus on the spirit of the holiday.

We were also lucky enough for her parents and brother, and my mom to come spend Christmas with us. We had an extremely full house and no one argued once.

After the holidays, I am going to end this blog and my gaming blog that I haven’t updated. I am moving it to a new site and I will be more focused with my content and perhaps a bit more informative.

One never can tell.
