2K Sports Football not eactly what was previously reported

In this month’s Game Informer magazine, there was a preview of the 2K Sports football offering that is set to be released later this year. I was a little surprised that the game was going to break completely away from the NFL and instead of turning to one of the other leagues in the world, they are creating their own virtual league with new teams, cities, and stadiums.

I am not a huge fan of Madden football, and when I play NCAA football, I only play South Carolina (It’s hard to break school ties.) Therefore, it is going to be quite good to play the game I love without ties to the Gamecocks or our well-known professional teams (Especially since I have to play Madden to play them.) I am a casual fan of the NFL, but I’m a huge football fan.

The preview showed some interesting stadium backdrops and talked about the fact that the game developers are working on increasing the number of fan models so crowds look more real. The stadiums each have their own gimick (such as a giant charging rhino.) There wasn’t much about gameplay, but if the last NFL 2K game is any indication, it will be easy to use and will have quite a bit of realism included with the player controls and play making.
