1080p For the 360
Through the industry site Gamasutra, there have been a few new announcements regarding the development of Xbox 360 games that will support display at 1080p resolution. From Sega, Sumo Digital is working on Virtua Tennis 3 and from EA, NBA Street Homecourt (being shipped Feb 20th) will be their first title to market with the resolution support out of the box.
For those that didn’t know that the Xbox 360 even supported 1080p, you can read about the October 2006 update that installed this ability for those 360s that are connected to the internet through Xbox Live.
Personally, this is a big yawn for me, but for the day that I do get a TV that supports this resolution I think I might be interested in the games that will get me the most bang for my buck. It is my dirty little secret that I still game on a SDTV…not even basic HD.
